Meet the ‘F1 the Movie’ cast
Brad Pitt
Pitt is the most established actor in this film. He’s won two Oscars, the first was for being part of ’12 Years a Slave,’ which won Best Picture in 2014. The second was the Award for Best Supporting Actor, which Pitt took home for his role in ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.’
Pitt is well known for his roles as Tyler Durden in ‘Fight Club’ and Athletics general manager Billy Bean in ‘Moneyball.’
Damson Idris
Idris will play Joshua Pearce in the film, the driver competing with (and against) Pitt when they join the same race team. Idris is known for a recurring role as Franklin Saint in the TV series ‘Snowfall.’ He was in one episode of ‘Black Mirror’ and played Harp in the movie ‘Outside the Wire.’
Javier Bardem
Bardem plays Ruben Cervantes in ‘F1 The Movie.’ From the trailer, it looks like his character is part of the Formula 1 racing team that decides to pair Pitt and Idris together. Bardem is likely most recognized for his role as Anton Chigurh in ‘No Country for Old Men,’ and he was also in ‘Skyfall.’
Kerry Condon
Condon plays Kate McKenna. She is the narrator of the trailer and has a role with the racing team that Pitt and Idris are part of. You may recognize her voice, she was ‘Friday’ in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ the voice inside Tony Stark’s helmet. McKenna is also known for her roles in ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ and ‘Unleashed.’
Tobias Menzies
Menzies’ character in ‘F1 The Movie’ is named Peter Bunting. He played a recurring role as Frank and Jack Randall in the TV show ‘Outlander.’ Menzis was in seven episodes of ‘Manhunt’ as Edwin Stanton and in 20 episodes of ‘The Crown’ as Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Kim Bodnia
Bodnia plays Kaspar Smolinski in ‘F1 The Movie.’ He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his supporting role in ‘Killing Eve.’ Bodnia had a recurring role in the TV Show ‘The Bridge’ as Martin Rhode. He is also known for his roles in ‘Pusher’ and ‘Nightwatch.’
Sarah Niles
Niles plays a character named Bernadette. We see her in the trailer walking around with Idris, so she could have a familial relationship with him, or at least be a mentor. Fans of the hit Apple TV show ‘Ted Lasso’ will recognize her as the therapist that is brought in to work with the team. She also has minor roles in the upcoming ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ and ‘Heads of State.’
Lewis Hamilton
If you recognize Hamilton’s name, it is because he is an active Formula 1 driver. He and many of the other drivers have cameos in the film, whether it be racing against Pitt and Idris or in press conference scenes.
