  • Man Utd receives Viktor Gyokeres boost with another striker close to joining

Manchester United may be in for a double win in the transfer market.

With one striker refusing to return to his club, and another edging closer to a move, United’s attacking problems might soon have new answers.

Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres has made it clear he doesn’t plan to return to Sporting CP.

Reports (via @Record_Portugal) suggest he’s frustrated after an agreement allowing him to leave wasn’t honored.

That’s opened the door for United to swoop in. Manager Ruben Amorim, who worked with Gyokeres at Sporting, could now be set for a reunion at Old Trafford. And if that wasn’t enough to excite fans, there’s more.

While Gyokeres’ saga heats up, another striker might beat him to Manchester.

Bryan Mbeumo inches closer to joining Man Utd

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is pushing for a move to the Red Devils. United have already made two bids.

The latest, worth around £62.5 million, was turned down. But the club hasn’t given up. And according to Fabrizio Romano, talks are ongoing.

“Contacts continue, even today, between Manchester United and Brentford,” Romano shared on his YouTube channel. “The here we go is still a strong possibility for Bryan Mbeumo.”

That’s music to the ears of fans who watched their side struggle in front of goal last season. Mbeumo scored 20 times across all competitions alongside 9 assists, while United’s top scorers often looked lost in the final third.

Brentford reportedly want £78 million, but a deal could apparently be struck for slightly over £60 million. With Mbeumo eager to join, and other suitors like Arsenal and Spurs still in the mix, United are trying to wrap things up fast.

If both Gyokeres and Mbeumo land at Old Trafford, Amorim will have a very different strike force to work with in the 2025/26 season.
