  • Liam Delap asks Nicolas Jackson to ’embrace the competition’ following his Chelsea debut

On the back of an impressive debut for Chelsea, Liam Delap has urged Nicolas Jackson to embrace the ‘competition’ he will bring to Chelsea.

One of the major sub-plots of Chelsea’s Club World Cup opener against Los Angeles FC was who Enzo Maresca would pick as his starting striker for Chelsea.

The Italian started the match with Nicolas Jackson up front, but brought on Delap in his place on the hour mark.

Both Jackson and Delap put in impressive performances against Los Angeles FC.

While Jackson set up Pedro Neto for the opening goal of the game, Delap came on in the second half and set up Enzo Fernandez for Chelsea’s second goal.

After his memorable debut for the Blues, Delap has sent a message to Jackson.
