Ever since Chelsea announced the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Nicolas Jackson at the club.
While some say that Delap was signed to give competition to Jackson, others see him as a threat to the Senegalese striker.
Some reports also suggested that the signing of Delap could be the end of the road for Jackson at Stamford Bridge.
Interestingly, Chelsea have been reportedly interested in signing even more attackers in the ongoing summer transfer window.
So far, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has used the duo interchangeably, with Jackson making way for Delap during Chelsea’s Club World Cup opener against Los Angeles FC.
But in a recent interview, Maresca has revealed that he is not averse to the idea of using the duo as a striker partnership going forward.

What Maresca said about using Jackson and Delap together as a partnership
In a recent interview, Maresca was asked about the possibility of using Delap and Jackson as a striker partnership and the Italian manager responded by saying, “That’s a good question, I don’t think we played once with two strikers together but if we can with Nic and Liam we can play some game together.”
“They are both the same position, both strikers. We used to play with one striker, but as I said, if some games can happen that we can play two strikers, we will see”
