Just weeks after baseball was played inside of a motor speedway, MLB will once again hold a specialty matchup for a late-summer interleague matchup.
The Mets and Mariners are both realistically vying for playoff spots in the stretch run of the 2025 season, but that isn’t why the teams’ meeting on Sunday, Aug. 17, is so notable. New York and Seattle will be playing on a unique field that’s become an annual destination, playing in the 2025 Little League Classic.
Since the Little League Classic was introduced in 2017, it’s become a staple event over MLB’s August calendar, scheduled during the time that the Little League World Series is taking place. That often leads to wholesome crossover moments between big leaguers and little leaguers, MLB players attending Little League games, etc.

Where is the MLB Little League Classic?
- Location:Â Williamsport, Pa.
Because the purpose of the event is to have a crossover between the Little League World Series and MLB, the Little League Classic is held right where each annual youth tournament is held: Williamsport, Pa.
More specifically, Little League Classic games have been played in Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field since the event began in 2017.
Following a successful specialty game at Fort Bragg in 2016, MLB began planning another event to take place at Williamsport during the Little League World Series. In March 2017, MLB finalized those plans, announcing the new Little League Classic as an opportunity to build “a stronger connection between young people and the National Pastime.”
Bowman Field was already in place prior to the Little League Classic, as it long hosted former minor league team and current MLB Draft League team, the Williamsport Crosscutters. When the Little League Classic was announced, Bowman Field was upgraded with additional seats, new irrigation, and more to accommodate an MLB game.
Every year since its inception, the Little League Classic has been broadcast nationally by ESPN and played at Bowman Field.

How big is the MLB Little League stadium?
Bowman Field holds a capacity of 2,366 fans, which is obviously much less than the average MLB stadium. For that reason, tickets to the game have been reserved for those involved in the Little League World Series, or for a limited number of residents of Lycoming County on a lottery basis in the past.
As for the field’s dimensions, those were adjusted when the Little League Classic began. In the outfield, it’s 331 feet to right field, 411 feet to center field, and 323 feet to left field.Â
