1997 Formula 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve is set to make his debut appearance at the 2025 Goodwood Revival.
The Canadian will race in the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration in a 1963 AC Cobra, named the Hairy Canary.
“I am very excited to be participating in the RAC TT Celebration,” Villeneuve said. “It was very frustrating seeing all my pals having fun racing it out last year while I was sitting watching. Driving the Cobra on such a fun track will be an exceptional moment, can’t wait!”
The Duke of Richmond added: “Every year, we are privileged to welcome some of the world’s greatest drivers and riders to the Goodwood Revival. Drawing on experience from across the breadth of motorsport, these competitors turn their skill and passion to historic racing, often facing rivals they’d never otherwise meet on the track. I’m grateful to them for taking the time to join us over the weekend and look forward to seeing them in action.”
This comes after Villeneuve joined other F1 champions and legends at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate 75 years of the championship. During the four-day event, he drove Niki Lauda’s Ferrari 312 B3.
Villeneuve will join the likes of 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button, three-time Daytona 24 Hours winner Scott Dixon and nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen at the event. Others who have also been confirmed to attend include 24-time World Superbike winner and champion Carlos Checa, four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, three-time BTCC champion Gordon Shedden and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson.

The 2025 Goodwood Revival will take place on Friday 12 – Sunday 14 September. This year’s event is set to celebrate the life and career of two-time F1 champion and 1965 Indy 500 winner Jim Clark. Cars representing his racing career will be on display and driven on track.
“It’s such a privilege to celebrate Jim Clark at the Goodwood Revival this year,” the Duke of Richmond explained. “His achievements in 1965 are the stuff of legend, including uniquely winning the Formula 1 World Championship and Indy 500 in the same season.
“I vividly remember watching him win the final F1 race at Goodwood, on Easter Monday 1965, in which he and Jackie Stewart set the ultimate Goodwood lap record. Having such strong links to Goodwood, and in a year that marks several significant anniversaries, we are hugely proud to be paying tribute to Jim Clark – considered by some to be the greatest driver of all time – over the Revival weekend.”
