This is something none of us knew we needed to see today.

Luckily, the Chicago White Sox were looking out for us.

They unveiled something that seems impossible for their Sunday game against the Cleveland Guardians: a 50-foot hot dog.

It has to be seen to be believed:

We have many, many questions. Among them:

  • How do you make that?
  • How do you eat that?
  • Why would you make that?
  • Why would you eat that?
  • Is this the best accomplishment of the entire White Sox season?

This feels like someone was sitting in a room and wondered, “How long can we make a hot dog?” And then the dream grew much larger than anyone was anticipating.

Let’s call up Joey Chestnut and see if he can eat it.

But now, here’s something even more incredible. This doesn’t come close to the world record for longest hot dog.

In 2011, a 668-foot hot dog was created in Paraguay. Excuse us, but what?!

This probably didn’t help anyone’s appetites. Better go have a hamburger tonight, just to be safe. You wouldn’t want the kitchen to bring out a hot dog that seems like it never ends.
