Only a few weeks remain in the summer transfer window and there’s some growing tension around Manchester City star Jack Grealish’s future.

The England international’s role under Pep Guardiola heading into the 2025/26 season is unclear especially after City made statement signings in his position.

Grealish had an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign where he suffered from injuries and inconsistent form and now with more competition his future at the Etihad looks extremely bleak.

The 29-year-old have been linked with several clubs throughout the course of the transfer window but now as Everton has opened talks with Grealish over a potential loan as per reports via The Athletic’s David Ornstein

The Toffees have been interested in him earlier in the summer, but they distanced themselves from the deal in July.

But after they failed to land Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, Everton have shifted their focus on Grealish.

It is reported that Everton boss David Moyes is a big admirer of the Englishman’s attacking profile and see him as a viable option for the creative role at Goodison Park.

However, even a loan deal for Grealish would be extremely complicated for Everton as the 29-year-old is one of the highest paid players at the Eithad.

Will Jack Grealish move to Everton this summer?

Everton are reportedly speaking with Grealish over a year-long loan deal and a possible deal is considered complicated.

However, Grealish has also reportedly turned down the option of moving to foreign clubs as he is keen to stay in the Premier League to rejuvenate his career ahead of the World Cup next year.

There has been interest from Serie A with the 29-year-old getting linked with Napoli where many people expected him to reunite with Kevin de Bruyne.

But his preference of staying in England and specifically in the northern side which makes a move to Everton, a more logical decision this summer.

Despite all of that, City may not rush into a decision on the England international and even Everton have only just reignited their interest in him, and we could expect an ultimatum in coming weeks.

It remains to be seen if the Toffees and Moyes manage to crack the deal for Grealish as it would give him the best platform to regain his lost form.

He featured in 32 matches last season for City registering three goals and five assists. He played 20 Premier League games and only started seven.
