The Browns entered 2025 training camp with one of the most intriguing quarterback rooms in professional football. Less than two weeks into camp, that room got even more interesting.
As injuries pile up, the Browns motioned to bring in Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, a six-year veteran who spent training camp in Cleveland in 2024. Huntley is the fifth active QB on the roster and the sixth in total, adding another layer to the ongoing QB competition that includes rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, in addition to a duo of veterans.
Hours before Huntley’s reported signing, the Browns revealed their first depth chart of the preseason, with Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett situated at the top. The injuries throughout the room have added complications to the ongoing battle and facilitated the addition of Huntley.

Here is where Cleveland’s QB competition stands after the addition of yet another QB to the roster.
Browns QB depth chart
QB | Player |
1 | Joe Flacco |
2 | Kenny Pickett |
3 | Dillon Gabriel |
4 | Shedeur Sanders |
5 | Tyler Huntley |
PUP | Deshaun Watson |

1. Joe Flacco
Flacco, 40, is listed as QB1 on Cleveland’s depth chart. The former 2008 first-round pick is in his second stint with the Browns, re-joining the franchise after posting a 4-1 record as a starter for Cleveland in 2023 and helping the franchise reach the playoffs for just the third time in 25 years.
Last season, Flacco appeared in eight games (six starts) with the Colts, completing 162 of 248 pass attempts for 1,761 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
2. Kenny Pickett
Pickett joined the Browns in 2025 after spending last season as QB2 in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old is entering his fourth NFL season and looks to return to a starting role after starting in 24 games over his first two seasons with the Steelers.
Pickett has a 15-10 record as an NFL starter and, for his career, has thrown for 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
3. Dillon Gabriel
The Browns selected Gabriel with the 94th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old joins the NFL after a college career that spanned six seasons, with stops at UCF, Oklahoma, and Oregon.
Last season, Gabriel led the Ducks to the CFP Quarterfinal and a 13-1 record, completing 72.9 percent of his passes for 3,857 yards in the air, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. He added seven touchdowns on the ground.
4. Shedeur Sanders
Sanders was the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, joining Cleveland after a four-year college career that included stops at Jackson State and Colorado.
In 2024, Sanders led the Buffs to a 9-4 record, completing 4.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.

5. Tyler Huntley
Huntley is entering his sixth NFL season and has spent time with the Ravens and Dolphins in addition to his 2024 stint with the Browns.
It is worth noting that last year, Huntley appeared in all three of Cleveland’s preseason games. He completed 37 of 51 pass attempts for 322 yards and three touchdowns. These numbers suggest a familiarity with Kevin Stefanski’s system, which is notable as Cleveland’s new offensive coordinator was promoted in-house.
That familiarity could lead to a quick jump up the depth chart.
PUP. Deshaun Watson
Watson is expected to miss the entirety of the 2025 NFL season. He started in seven games for Cleveland in 2024, posting a 1-6 record in them.

Browns injury report

Kenny Pickett
Pickett has been limited since suffering a “mild hamstring injury” less than a week into camp.
“I’m trying to get back out there, you know, as fast as possible,” Pickett said of his injury on Sunday, Aug. 3. I’ve never had, you know, a soft tissue injury like this, so really a first-time experience in my career, I felt like I came in great shape, was hitting numbers speed-wise that I’ve never hit before.
“So, it’s frustrating that it happened but you know, turn the page and just trying to be, you know, as good as I can be when I do return.”
Dillon Gabriel
Gabriel will be limited with “tightness in his hamstring,” as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The news of Gabriel’s hamstring injury came down days before the Browns were set to travel to Charlotte, N.C., for joint practices and a preseason date with the Panthers.
Shedeur Sanders
Sanders was held out of practice over the weekend to mitigate soreness in his throwing shoulder. He returned to the field on Monday, Aug. 4.
“It’s just adjusting to starting and stopping, honestly,” Sanders said. “Sometimes, you’ll go in hot, then you’ll wait for a second and get cold, and get back hot, then get cold. My arm and body wasn’t used to that, so it’s just an adjustment within the body, within my arm.”
