Micah Parsons wants out of Dallas.

And for whatever reason, owner Jerry Jones doesn’t seem that concerned.

That was true even before Jones’ comments to reporters on Saturday. Reports have indicated the Cowboys weren’t even negotiating with Parsons on a contract extension.

And now, Jones has delivered a message that’s meant to be helpful to Dallas fans, but whether it is or not is less certain.

Here’s the key sentence Jones said to sum up his thoughts:

“I would say to our fans, don’t lose any sleep over this.”

That might be hard for Cowboys fans to get behind.

After all, Parsons just posted on X on Friday that, “I no longer want to be here.”

Those are two disparate messages.

The Cowboys are, at least seemingly, in danger of losing the best young defensive player in the NFL.

That seems a point for concern, for sure.

Yes, Dallas has done this before. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb’s contract negotiations last year both took longer than would probably be ideal.

But neither Prescott nor Lamb pushed back in the way Parsons is. Neither of them requested a trade.

The edge rusher posted a whole bunch of paragraphs out of his notes app to deliver a message to his fans. Cowboys defenders have changed their social media profile pictures to photos of Parsons. Lamb posted a sassy message on his X account.

People who want Parsons on the Cowboys are concerned. Just not Jones, apparently.
