The New York Mets continue to make moves, as they acquired Cedric Mullins from the Baltimore Orioles, per MLB’s Anthony DiComo.

The Mets are in the middle of a pennant race for the National League East, as they battle tooth and nail with the Philadelphia Phillies. Heading into Friday’s action, the Mets are 62-47 while Philadelphia sits at 61-47.
The 30-year-old has struggled this season at times, but brings plenty of experience to the Mets. The lefthander is hitting .229 on the season, but has clubbed 15 home runs and driven in 49 runs on the season.

Mullins’ final game with the Orioles saw him pick up two hits, including a double. In fact, in the three-game series against Toronto, Mullins had six hits in ten at-bats. Four of his hits were doubles.
In his career, Mullins has played 784 games and is a career .250 hitter. Mullins just went over 100 home runs in his career.
It appears Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez and Chandler Marsh have been sent to the Orioles from the Mets. Baltimore has seen a disappointing season, as they are last in the American League East.
Mullins’ first chance to suit up for the Mets will be on Friday. New York is back home to host the San Francisco Giants for a weekend series. On Monday, the Cleveland Guardians will come to town.
