Michigan made a bold decision in Ohio Stadium last season.
After the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes, again, they went and grabbed a big blue and maize ‘M’ flag and planted it at midfield.
Ohio State, clearly, wasn’t thrilled, and a postgame melee ensued.
Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore spoke about the matter at Big Ten Media Days this week, and he clarified that it wouldn’t happen again.
“There will be no more flag-planting,” Moore told reporters, via Buckeye Huddle. “There will be no more grabbing the flag.”
Michigan has won four consecutive games against Ohio State.
The Buckeyes didn’t lose again after the Wolverines defeat in 2024, instead going on a run all the way to the national championship.

Michigan lost five games last season but somehow upset the soon-to-be champs on the road.
Prior to 2021, Ohio State had won 15-of-16 against Michigan. But the Wolverines have found a new edge in The Game.
Ohio State’s Ryan Day was on a super hot seat following this latest Michigan defeat and flag planting, at least until the Buckeyes won the College Football Playoff.
The rivals will meet at the Big House this season. Ohio State will want multiple levels of vengeance. But even if Michigan wins, don’t count on a big flag showing up.
