The Golden State Warriors have yet to roll the dice and complete a transaction of any kind in the early going of the 2025 NBA offseason.
As a result, Golden State’s aging superstar core of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green have not received any substantial assistance from the franchise’s front office and general manager Mike Dunleavy with regard to supplying the trio with quality role players.
Curry and Green still have clear and obvious aspirations to capture their fifth NBA title as a duo in 2025-26, and Butler seeks his first championship victory, but the organization’s painfully hesitant summer could make for a disappointing season.
Though Dunleavy and his staff have a long way to go towards constructing a true title contender in a loaded Western Conference, recent reports have indicated that the team could take a massive step in the right direction by acquiring one of the most coveted names left on the free agent market, Malcolm Brogdon.
“Another name worth mentioning that was connected to the Dubs in Las Vegas is Malcolm Brogdon,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel wrote Monday afternoon.
“The former Sixth Man of the Year has held out in free agency to this point despite multiple suitors contacting him in recent weeks.”

“He would be an excellent addition on a minimum contract for a team like Golden State, which desperately needs a lead guard in their second unit.”
At 32 years old, the ex-Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks star remains a top target for contending clubs prior to the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign.
The 2017 Rookie of the Year as a member of the Bucks and 2023 Sixth Man of the Year winner with Boston has developed into one of the most reliable guards in the NBA, when healthy. If bought out by the Washington Wizards and subsequently acquired by Golden State, he could serve as a fantastic reserve option for Curry.
A 9-year veteran and underrated offensive option, Brogdon owns a 38.8% three-point percentage for his 463-game career and overall 57.2% true shooting percentage. On top of his efficient shot-making, he’s become a composed and supremely skilled play-maker.
For a Warriors team that would otherwise have to bank on incoming third-year point guard Brandin Podziemski taking a massive leap next season, Brogdon’s hypothetical introduction offers more of a calming presence.
