It’s shaping up to be a rough stretch for the WNBA’s top stars, as yet another All-Star is forced to the sidelines. Following Caitlin Clark’s injury, Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally has announced she will miss the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.

The 6’4” Sabally, the Mercury’s leading scorer, was drafted seventh overall by Clark during the All-Star selection. But with Clark likely out due to a groin injury sustained during Indiana’s game against the Connecticut Sun, Sabally’s absence is another blow to the event’s star power.

Sabally took to social media to share her status, explaining that she’s been working to rehab her injuries and hoped to be healthy in time for the game but ultimately had to make the tough decision to sit it out.

“Unfortunately, my body still needs more time to recover and I am unable to suit up and play in this weekend’s game,” she wrote. “I’m disappointed, naturally, but I want to ensure I’m doing everything I can to be healthy after the break.”

While she’s prioritizing her long-term health and her team, fans will surely miss seeing her on the All-Star stage.
