Clark has been dealing with physical play and injuries for much of this season. She was out with a quadriceps strain earlier this year and missed five games with a groin strain before returning on July 9.

Caitlin Clark injury update

Clark made a pass to Kelsey Mitchell in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s game, took a few steps toward the opposite basket, and then began grimacing and grabbing the side of her right leg.

Clark went to the bench gingerly immediately following the injury and was in some obvious pain, covering her head with a towel to hide her tears.

The injury, which occurred with less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter of a game Indiana won, capped off an eventful night for Clark, who jawed with the refs and struggled with her shot early before finding her rhythm in the fourth quarter.

After the game, Fever coach Stephanie White said Clark will be evaluated to determine the extent of the injury.

How long is Caitlin Clark out?

Clark has not been given a timeline for her most recent injury. Ultimately, the time missed will depend on the distinction and severity of this injury.

She was recently sidelined for two weeks with a groin injury.

Caitlin Clark groin injury timeline

Clark appeared to injure her left groin in the final moments of a win over the Storm on Tuesday, June 24.

After falling to the floor, Clark got up gingerly, clearly in evident pain. She was ruled out of Indiana’s next game and ultimately missed five regular-season games in addition to the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on July 1.

The Fever did not designate the injury as anything but “left groin” on injury report submissions.

After missing two weeks of action, Clark returned to action on Wednesday, July 9, and was on a gradual minutes restriction. The latest injury occurred in Clark’s fourth game back from the first groin injury.

It appears Clark was reaching to her right leg, suggesting this may be a new groin injury on the other side.

Is Caitlin Clark playing tonight vs. Liberty?

Clark’s status for Wednesday, July 16, vs. New York has not been determined.

Reports suggest that Clark is day-to-day based on the evaluation of Tuesday’s injury, placing some doubt around her ability to play against the Liberty.

Is Caitlin Clark playing in WNBA All-Star Game?

There has been no determination of Clark’s availability for the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 19.

If Clark’s injury is as serious as her last groin injury, she could wind up missing this year’s All-Star Game, which will be played at the Fever’s home arena in Indianapolis.
