The Chicago Cubs have had a great season thus far, boasting the third-best record in Major League Baseball at 57-39.

Chicago has a one-game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the National League Central, and Pete Crow-Armstrong is a massive factor in that.

Crow-Armstrong, 23, has had a monster first half of the season, hitting 25 home runs and driving in 71 runs while stealing 27 bases and slashing .265/.302/.544 in 95 games.

He was elected to the All-Star Game for the first time in his young career and was voted in as the starting centerfielder for the NL.

Crow-Armstrong recently told Chris Rose that if the opportunity presented itself, he would accept an invitation to play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic next year.

“Yeah, no question,” said Crow-Armstrong with a smile. “Having done the Team USA thing in youth ball… I’ve played on really good Team USA’s, so abso-f***ing-lutely I would say yes in a heartbeat. Any position, any role, I would just go catch the ball.”

Team USA manager Mark DeRosa has stated in the past that he would love to have a player like Crow-Armstrong on his team.

DeRosa is a former Cub and always has high praise for its players and organization, so adding Crow-Armstrong would probably be easier than he thinks.

Crow-Armstrong leads the NL in bWAR (5.4) and will give Shohei Ohtani a run for his money in the NL Most Valuable Player award race.
