Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker struggled again as the team hosted the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon, coming to a boil at the end of the first half.
Butker made two extra points but didn’t get a field goal attempt until the end of the half, when the Chiefs got into field goal range to add three points. Instead, Butker continued to flounder, and with the Chiefs playing at home for the first time in three weeks, the fans made their voices heard.
As Butker jogged off the field, CBS showed fans booing Butker while Justin Tucker watched on the sidelines. Tucker, of course, was signed to the Kansas City practice squad as insurance in case Butker continued to miss deep kicks.
Here’s a look at the fans jeering Butker on Sunday afternoon.

Chiefs fans boo Harrison Butker after missed field goals
Already up by two points on the Jets, the Chiefs had a chance to extend the lead to five points before halftime. Kansas City got into field-goal range for Harrison Butker, giving the veteran a chance to bounce back.
Instead, though, things went quite wrong for Butker. First, the kicker missed a 56-yard field goal, but he was bailed out by a Jets defender who was offsides. On the next try, which was from 51 yards out, Butker missed wide right again.
As the Chiefs ran off the field to the locker room, fans booed Butker, who has now missed seven field goals in eight games so far.

Butker’s issues are pretty much all from long range, as he is now just 2-for-8 from at least 50 yards. In this case, Butker essentially had two tries at making one field goal from 50 yards or more, and he failed at both chances.
With Butker struggling, the question will be how long it takes for the Chiefs to make a change at kicker. For now, the veteran needs to turn it around fast to keep his job.
