The Minnesota Vikings are looking for a spark on the offensive side of the ball. Kyler Murray, dealing with a hamstring injury, is sitting on the bench for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills, leaving Carson Wentz to start.

With Minnesota returning to Wentz as their starting quarterback, it’s going to be very interesting to see how this offense functions. But also very interesting is that they’ve made another change to the offense, this time with a veteran wide receiver.

According to Tom Pelissero of The Ringer, the Vikings are signing Odell Beckham Jr. to the 53-man roster in what could be a very interesting roster move for a few reasons.

Vikings to sign Odell Beckham Jr. to 53-man roster

“The Vikings are signing WR Odell Beckham Jr. to the 53-man roster, per source,” Pelissero reported Sunday morning.

Prior to the Vikings’ game against the Bills, the team is making an interesting addition to the 53-man roster. Beckham, who initially signed back with the New York Giants this season, was cut and then scooped up by the Vikings not too long ago.

But Beckham has been on the practice squad for a little while now. Prior to the 6-1 Vikings taking on the 6-1 Bills, that has changed.

Minnesota adding Beckham to the 53-man roster is very interesting for a few reasons. One reason why this move might be happening is that the Vikings are worried about Jauan Jennings’ injury.

The other, much more intriguing reason for this kind of move is that maybe they’re planning to trade Jennings.

He’s not really involved in the Minnesota offense, and maybe a team like the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs is making a move.

Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Myles Price will be active on game days, with Jennings and Tai Felton the two noteworthy players in this WR room to keep an eye on with this Beckham decision.

While the fallout in the WR room isn’t yet known, it’s very interesting that the Vikings are making this roster move to bring Beckham on the 53-man roster prior to their Week 9 matchup and prior to the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, November 10.
