One of the most highly anticipated games of the 2026 college football season has finally arrived.

Ever since Miami took down Notre Dame to open the 2025 season — a result that ultimately snubbed the Fighting Irish from the College Football Playoff later on — fans have been patiently waiting for the next game between the famed programs. And with both teams at the top of this year’s playoff race entering Week 10, the stakes are high.

The No. 1 Hurricanes’ unscathed 8-0 record to open 2026 will be on the line in what is easily their toughest challenge of the regular season: traveling to South Bend to face No. 11-ranked Notre Dame.

The matchup should have lasting consequences on the final CFP bracket, with Darian Mensah (2,425 passing yards, 25 TD, 1 INT) and Mario Cristobal’s high-powered offense lining up against one of the best defenses in the country. Meanwhile, another elite quarterback, C.J. Carr (1,849 passing yards, 18 TD, 1 INT), will look to lead the Irish to a massive home win.

The Sporting News is tracking live updates, highlights and more from Notre Dame vs. Miami, a meeting between two of the most historic programs in the sport and best teams in the country this season. Follow along with the action below.
