It has been a nightmare start to the 2026-27 NBA season for the Charlotte Hornets. They are 3-7 after 10 games, and it could get worse because they just lost their best player, Brandon Miller, during their game against the Boston Celtics.
Considering Kon Knueppel has also missed plenty of games this season, the Hornets are struggling mightily. Now that they have both star players missing, the Hornets are in even more trouble.
Charles Lee’s Brandon Miller update is not a good sign for the Hornets
Through nine games of the 2026-27 season, Miller is averaging 20.6 points per game. He has been a bright spot for the Hornets, even though he has been quite inefficient with 35.6% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc.
Of course, that is without context because Miller has had to take charge and put up all the shots as the number one guy. They are still making adjustments to having LaMelo Ball as the offensive engine, so Miller knows his responsibility.

Now, the Hornets are without their main man and his second-in-command in Knueppel. Both players are injured, and Miller’s groin injury could be a lengthy one because of the discouraging update given by head coach Charles Lee.
“To be honest, I saw him start to limp a couple of plays. He was good, then he asked for a sub. We’ll evaluate him over the weekend, and we’ll have more information on Monday,” Lee said about Miller’s groin injury against the Celtics.
Hornets fans are hoping that Miller’s injury is not too bad. They need him to be as healthy as possible as soon as possible because they will extend this nightmare start further.
