Draymond Green has been the talk of the town because of his latest ejection. The Golden State Warriors forward initially got into it with Phoenix Suns center Khaman Maluach, but the situation escalated when Green grabbed Dillon Brooks by the collar.
Green was promptly ejected, but he spoke about the situation on his podcast. He brought up the physicality he and Maluach were having that sparked the confrontation between Green and Brooks.
Draymond Green speaks out about his foul on Khaman Maluach
In the matchup between the Warriors and the Suns, Maluach had the size advantage over Green during their matchup as centers. Of course, Green had to compensate by trying to outspeed and outsmart the younger player. However, it seems that the physicality got too much when Green was knocked to the floor.
Green made sure to promptly respond, but it seems that his response was too excessive. He received the technical foul for doing what he did to Maluach, but it then escalated into the confrontation between Green and Brooks that led to the ejection.

Green is well-known for being a vocal player, especially with his podcast. With the time that passed after that game, Green made sure to explain the reasoning behind the initial foul with Maluach.
“Some of those fouls just had to happen. They just have to in order to command the respect that you must command in order to protect a rim. They just got to happen that way. The one with Maluach, I’ll take that one. That’s got to happen. I can’t fall down the middle of the paint; you’re just finishing, ahh. That don’t work, respect gone,” Green said on his podcast about the initial foul.
It is obviously not a good look for Green because he just did that to a younger player. Thankfully, he has taken responsibility for what happened, so he will get some grace for that. However, he did have that clash with Brooks right after, so it makes him look even worse.
“You’re supposed to be this tough guy. I don’t claim to be a tough guy; I just am who I am. I don’t claim to be some tough guy, but you can’t come to a man like you’re coming and saying the things you’re saying and putting your shoulder into his chest,” Green also said about Brooks.
