Luka Doncic continues to produce extraordinary scoring performances for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Wednesday night provided another example. Doncic scored 40 points in a 116-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings, recording his third consecutive game with at least 40 points.

The performance also marked his fifth 40-point outing of the season, an impressive total this early in the schedule. Los Angeles extended its winning streak to three games while Sacramento continued struggling to establish consistency.

Doncic keeps finding ways to score

Doncic finished 11-for-23 from the field and connected on six three-pointers against Sacramento.

He also contributed nine rebounds and seven assists, demonstrating that his influence extends beyond scoring.

The Lakers overcame an early deficit before taking control during the middle stages of the game. They built a 16-point advantage in the third quarter and maintained enough separation to withstand Sacramento’s late push.

Doncic helped protect the lead with important free throws as the Kings attempted to make the final minutes competitive.

Lakers receive help from supporting cast

Austin Reaves scored 21 points for Los Angeles, providing another dependable offensive option. Walker Kessler contributed 15 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and three steals, giving the Lakers important production around the basket.

That defensive presence helped Los Angeles maintain control despite Sacramento’s attempts to generate momentum.

The Lakers also benefited from the Kings’ mistakes. Sacramento committed 18 turnovers, which Los Angeles converted into 23 points. Those additional scoring opportunities made it more difficult for the Kings to complete a comeback.

A scoring streak worth watching

Doncic’s three consecutive 40-point games represent an impressive stretch even by his standards. The Lakers have needed consistent offensive production while navigating the early stages of the season, and their superstar has provided it.

Sacramento received 22 points and 12 assists from Darius Acuff Jr., while Zach LaVine added 21 points and Domantas Sabonis recorded 16 points and 17 rebounds. But the Kings could not overcome Doncic’s production and their own turnover problems.

Los Angeles is building momentum behind one of the league’s most dangerous offensive players. If Doncic continues scoring at this rate, the Lakers will have an opportunity to establish themselves among the Western Conference’s strongest teams.
