The Dallas Cowboys fell in yet another close game on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, 33-30 in an overtime loss. That puts Dallas at a 3-5 record for the season, which obviously isn’t a good look.
Heading into their next game against the 2-6 Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, there are a lot of questions about what owner and general manager Jerry Jones may do before the NFL’s Nov. 10 trade deadline. One of the big players that he could possibly move is wide receiver George Pickens. So, will it happen?
NFL insider shares latest update on George Pickens trade rumors
With all the talk about Pickens possibly getting traded before the trade deadline, one NFL insider is sharing what he’s heard. Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said, “I was told the Dallas Cowboys aren’t trading George Pickens.”
Zachary Krueger of NBC Sports adds that Rapoport also said, “As of right now, there’s nothing there,” as far as a potential trade involving the player.
“Pickens, who is playing out the season on the franchise tag, hasn’t produced at the level he did in 2025 when he broke out for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, but he remains a focal point in the offense despite his underwhelming production,” Krueger adds. “Pickens still ranks 14th in the league among all receivers in targets and is 12th in total air yards. Despite the Cowboys’ disappointing 3-5 record, they remain in the race to win what has been an underwhelming NFC East.”
He adds, “With team owner Jerry Jones saying earlier that Pickens needs to be targeted more, it’s safe to assume he will remain with the Cowboys for the season.”
So, all of that talk and buzz about Pickens getting moved may amount to nothing. But never say never until Nov. 10 has come and gone.
