Sunderland hope to save their season as they look to pull themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table when they welcome Leeds United to the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

The Black Cats have suffered defeat in five of their first seven league matches of the season, including each of their last four bracketing the international break.

Leeds, meanwhile, have been a difficult nut to crack, winning just twice but drawing four of their games to this point. They also played defending champions Arsenal close in a 2-1 defeat not too long ago, indicating they have the capability of pushing for European places if they keep this level up and spring a few upsets.

When is Sunderland vs. Leeds United?

Sunderland vs. Leeds United value picks on ProphetX

Leeds United have been tenacious this season, keeping two Premier League clean sheets against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace thus far, and holding every single opponent save Arsenal to at least one goal or fewer.

Sunderland, meanwhile, have been leaky conceding a league-high 14 goals, but have played a few of their games down a man for significant time, including their last match, a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, where they saw Kevin Danso sent off just 17 minutes into the match.

Still, this will be tough sledding for Sunderland, even if the match is at home, and Leeds should manage to keep a lid on the match to earn their third victory of the season.
