Hometown hero Dalton Smith makes the first defence of his WBC super lightweight title against Alberto Puello on Saturday night.
Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) won the belt in spectacular fashion when he stopped feared puncher Subriel Matias in New York back in January.
An elbow injury for the champion resulted in this fight being moved back from its original June scheduling.
Southpaw Puello (25-1, 11 KOs) suffered his only career defeat in a disputed split-decision loss to Matias and is aiming to become a three-time champion.
The Sporting News will update live results from Smith vs. Puello and provide a full report on the main event.
