  • What time does the NASCAR race start today? TV schedule, channel for 2025 Chicago street race

NASCAR is once again painting the Windy City with tire marks and roaring engines as the Chicago Street Race returns for its third lap around downtown.

After nearly 75 years of tearing it up on everything from dusty dirt bullrings to lightning-quick superspeedways, NASCAR took a hard left turn in 2023 and brought its show to the heart of a major city. That bold new chapter began on the streets of Chicago, and now, the tradition is rolling strong into year three.

This weekend, the streets around Grant Park will transform into a high-speed playground for the Cup Series, culminating in the much-anticipated Grant Park 165.

The event has already produced its fair share of fireworks—none brighter than Shane van Gisbergen’s jaw-dropping debut win in 2023, a performance that launched him from international guest to full-time Cup contender. Last year, it was Alex Bowman who stole the spotlight, snapping a two-year drought and returning to Victory Lane with style.

This time around, the stakes are sky-high with playoff pressure mounting. Just four golden tickets remain for drivers yet to grab a win, and the road to postseason glory is quickly narrowing. Chase Elliott just cashed in his with a hometown triumph in Atlanta, punching his playoff pass and reigniting his chase for a second Cup crown.

The Sporting News has everything you need to know about the Grant Park 165 at Chicago, including TV Channel, streaming options, radio station and starting grid.
