Taylor Rooks is opening up about her marriage.
Rooks, who married Shane Fowler in July 2025, was recently on the panel for Front Office Sports’ “Tuned In” Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and shared why she wants to keep her relationship private.
“I think something that has been really big for me is that I believe in the true separation of church and state,” Rooks said. “I don’t think the entire world has to know everything about my relationship. That is how I have always been. I think you have to let your private things be private things and you have to let yourself have things that just belong to you.”
While the Emmy-nominated sports reporter doesn’t have any plans to make a couple’s channel with her husband, she is not knocking those who choose to showcase their relationships online.
“I don’t necessarily see my relationship as content… and I don’t knock you if you do. That just really wasn’t — that’s not my ministry. I think that is something that helps too because everybody has their opinions, everybody has things to say. But I feel very blessed and fortunate for the partner that I have.”
Rooks kept her relationship status as well as her wedding under wraps when she said “I do” to Fowler in July 2025 at Gotham Hall in New York City. The ceremony had A-list athletes in attendance such as NBA stars Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, and Draymond Green.
The sports reporter shared that he is not in the public eye like she is, but both have very busy work schedules and have supported one another through navigating their careers.
“He is a lawyer. He has an incredibly demanding job,” Rooks shared in her GQ profile last year. “We fell in love with one another because of who we are, and neither of us wants to hold the other person back.”
Rooks reiterated their commitment and support of one another at the summit on Tuesday.
“He allows me to be myself,” Rooks added. “I don’t feel bad if I have to get on a plane and go do this interview because he understands my work — the same way I understand his.”
According to a 2021 podcast, Fowler has worked at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Los Angeles before graduating from Harvard Law School and obtaining his JD. Rooks, on the other hand, is currently a feature reporter for Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football, leads studio coverage for NBA on Prime, and also serves as a member of the board of advisors and strategic partner for the Boardroom.
