Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s neighbors in Cleveland are opposing the newlyweds’ suggestion for this home improvement on their property, according to a report.
The Kansas City Chiefs star purchased the Cleveland home in March 2026, months before the newlyweds said, “I do.” The couple wanted to add a fence to their property as well as trees, presumably to add some privacy in case paparazzi or fans wanted to visit the home.
The couple wanting privacy is not the issue with locals but rather how the improvements will impact the sewer. According to a transcript per TMZ, “the fence will be moved about 2 feet inside the actual property line to stay away from sewer lines.”
Not only could the improvements affect the sewer, but residents are claiming that since there are a lot of deer that surround the area, they could also be harmed. The neighbors are concerned that the deer could be impaled by the fence while they roam the area.
Specifically, a neighbor named Katherine Bolton called out the trees as an issue, as she believes they would not be far enough away from the decaying sewer line. Another point Bolton made is that she believes that the couple might not stay in the area.
“This applicant may decide to sell her house next year, move on and buy another house,” Bolton says.
Kelce bought the $5.35 million home on March 2, which has 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and more than 21,000 square feet of living space. This is the Chiefs star’s second property, as he also owns a home in a gated community located in Leawood, Kansas, where he stays during the NFL season. He bought that home for a little under $6 million in 2023.
As for Swift, she owns multiple properties across the nation, including in New York, Tennessee, California, and Rhode Island.
