As the College Football Playoff contenders separate from the rest of the pack, the SEC will host a huge matchup between two of its most historic programs when Georgia travels to play Alabama.

Georgia enters the game as the No. 2 team in the country and has not yet been tested too much in its five games. The Bulldogs have scored at least 38 points in each contest thus far, while allowing 20 points or less in each game as well, all leading to a 5-0 record.

Of course, Georgia is known for its defense, but quarterback Gunnar Stockton seems comfortable in his second season as a starter. The Bulldogs also have a strong running game led by Nate Frazier, who already has five rushing touchdowns this season.

For Alabama, the Crimson Tide appear back to being a national championship contender in Kalen DeBoer’s third season at the helm. Alabama is also 5-0 this year, joining Georgia as the only 3-0 teams in the SEC so far, while the Crimson Tide are ranked No. 6 in the country.

The story of the season for Alabama is quarterback Keelon Russell, whose first season as a starter has vaulted him into the national conversation. Russell has combined for 15 total touchdowns this season, passing and rushing, proving to have a dangerous dual-threat ability.

The winner of this game will take a big step toward securing a College Football Playoff berth, while the loser will drop just a bit in their postseason fight.
