The Green Bay Packers can’t be happy with their 1-2 record going into the team’s Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it could be worse. They could be Tampa Bay with a 0-3 record.
Still, the Packers are the kind of franchise that won’t just sit around when something isn’t right. Their fanbase lives and breathes football, so don’t be surprised if this team makes a trade before the November trade deadline.
In a feature out on Friday ahead of Week 4, Dan Graziano of ESPN lays out a handful of trades that could happen in the NFL. One of them, of course, has to do with the Packers.
The Packers could trade Keisean Nixon
In the piece, he suggests the Packers trade cornerback Keisean Nixon.
“The Packers, like the Chargers, did not expect to have a losing record at this point (or probably any point) of the season,” he says in the piece. “They’re dealing with massive injury issues, particularly on the offensive line – the type of thing that can make it very tough to right the ship after a difficult start.”
He adds that Nixon is 29 and in the last year of his Packers deal. “He has experience as a kick returner as well as cornerback, and an acquiring team would be on the hook for only a prorated portion of his $4.3 million 2026 salary,” he adds.
So, this is a trade that would make sense and not be so wild that it would change the chemistry of Green Bay. But, with the way things are starting out with the Packers, a change in chemistry may not be the worst thing.
