The Seattle Seahawks are one of the more interesting teams to watch entering the 2026 NFL free agency window. They’re losing a lot of key players after a Super Bowl win.
Kenneth Walker III, Rashid Shaheed, Riq Woolen, Josh Jobe, Boye Mafe, and Coby Bryant are all hitting the open market. John Schenider won’t be able to keep all of them, but there is someone he and the Seahawks have their eyes on re-signing.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Seahawks are trying to re-sign 26-year-old safety Coby Bryant after breakout seasons in Mike Macdonald’s defense.
Seahawks trying to re-sign Coby Bryant
“The Seahawks will attempt to re-sign safety Coby Bryant, one of the hotter names on the defensive side of the market,” Fowler writes. “He has an interest in returning to Seattle but will have other suitors.”
Bryant is a 26-year-old safety who is turning 27 a few days after the new league year begins. He’s been in the NFL for four years, but he has really broken out in the last two seasons.
Ever since Macdonald took over the defense, Bryant has emerged as a standout safety for the Seahawks. The former fourth-round pick has broken out as a star in Macdonald’s defense.

Over the last two seasons, Bryant has seven total interceptions with one pick-six, 13 passes defended, two forced fumbles, 139 tackles, five tackles for loss, and a passer rating allowed of just 63.5.
Bryant has been one of the better safeties in the NFL these past two seasons, and while he doesn’t have a Pro Bowl or All-Pro nod to show for it, he’s broken out in a major way for Seattle.
Bringing him back is reportedly something the Seahawks are looking to do this offseason. Fowler’s report indicates there’s mutual interest, but with other teams likely interested, retaining him won’t be easy.
