  • Bucks reportedly interested in 12-time All-Star as possible Damian Lillard replacement

The Milwaukee Bucks have had the spotlight in free agency, and that isn’t changing anytime soon.

Over the past few days, no team has made bigger deals than the Bucks. From shockingly adding Myles Turner in free agency to waiving and stretching Damian Lillard, the Bucks have been at the center of attention.

While adding Turner and bringing back some key players like Bobby Portis are important steps toward keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo happy and building a contender, the team still needs a point guard. Considering that Lillard is set to miss next season anyway, the Bucks’ point guard problem isn’t a new development, but their latest target is a bit of a surprise.

On Thursday, Shams Charania said that the Bucks had a conversation with free agent Chris Paul earlier this week. Paul, of course, is a future Hall of Famer, but a potential move to Milwaukee is surprising.

With Paul testing the waters of free agency, it appeared that the Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers were the final teams he was considering, with reports that he wants to be close to home in Los Angeles. However, with other reports coming out that Paul would like to start next season, the Bucks could be a fit for the 12-time All-Star.

Whether adding Paul would make the Bucks a contender is yet to be seen, but the legendary point guard is coming off an 82-game season in San Antonio and could be a perfect playmaker for Antetokounmpo. Although Paul would like to be close to home, he could embrace this journeyman stage of his career one more time and help the Bucks solve one of their problems.
