The Pittsburgh Pirates made a trade midway through this season to acquire goalie Stuart Skinner from the Edmonton Oilers.

He might not stick around too much longer.

Insider Frank Seravalli reported that Skinner is being shopped before Friday’s 3 p.m. ET deadline.

It’d be a fascinating change of course after just getting Skinner a few months ago in the deal that sent Tristan Jarry to Edmonton.

The 27-year old goalie may not be the best netminder in the league or close to it, but he’s a proven NHL player.

Skinner has played 15 games since coming to the Penguins.

In that time, he has an 8-5-2 record. He has an 89.3 save percentage and a 2.62 goals against average.

Those are pretty solid numbers relative to Skinner’s recent production with the Oilers, but that may, if anything, make him an intriguing player to ship away.

Skinner has played 212 games in his career and has 117 wins.

He has a career 90.3 save percentage and a 2.73 goals against average.

There are a number of goalies rumored to be on the market, including Jordan Binnington and Sergei Bobrovsky, but none of them have moved yet. Add Skinner to the possibility list.
