But what’s more difficult: hitting four homers in a single game or smashing four in four consecutive at-bats across a handful of games with inconsistent playing time and facing different pitchers?
One day, Baltimore Orioles prospect and former 2024 first-round pick Vance Honeycutt could have the opportunity to become the 22nd member of the four-homers-in-one-game club. For now, he’s likely content putting on a remarkable power display at spring training.
In five trips to the plate this spring, the minor league outfielder is 4-for-4 with four roundtrippers and a walk, which does not count as an at-bat.

What’s incredible about Honeycutt’s scorching start to the spring is that he began the year at minor league camp. He wasn’t even on the Orioles’ non-roster invite list.
Well, he just went deep again, sending a moonshot to left-center field in the eighth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Houston Astros.

Where did Honeycutt’s sudden surge in power come from? He smashed 65 homers in three years as a star at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including a team high 28 in 2024.
As of today, he’s not listed on the Orioles’ top 30 MLB Pipeline prospects list. At the moment, that seems like a mistake.
