Saint Mary’s will host No. 9 Gonzaga for a head-to-head matchup Saturday to wrap up West Coast Conference play.

Saint Mary’s is getting ready to draw the curtains on a fairly successful regular season, in which it went 26-4 and 15-2 in conference. The Gaels’ two WCC losses came at the hands of Santa Clara and Gonzaga in January, and Saint Mary’s won the rematch against the Broncos on Wednesday. Can it do the same against the Bulldogs?

No. 9 Gonzaga (28-2, 16-1), a powerhouse program in men’s college basketball, is back in the national conversation this year. The Bulldogs had an early exit in last year’s NCAA tournament, losing in the second round to the eventual runners-up Houston. Other than a freak loss to Portland, Gonzaga has been unstoppable in the WCC, and should be a dangerous team in March.
