The much-anticipated gold medal game between the United States and Canada lived up to the hype, as the U.S. survived with a 2-1 win in overtime.
The lineups throughout were full of hockey stars, which gave both coaches plenty of options in this final. However, while the United States is a little deeper and can rely on all four lines, Canada leaned on its top line and pair more in the gold medal game.
In the end, it was Connor Hellebuyck and Jack Hughes who emerged as the gold medal heroes. Hellebuyck was a brick wall in net, while Hughes provided the game-winning goal in overtime to secure the victory.
Here’s a look at the box score for the gold medal game between the USA and Canada.
