The New York Jets’ search for wide receiver help continues to generate speculation. Among the options out there, the Jets shouldn’t have a hard time finding the guys they want, whether it be one or a few.

Connor Hughes of SNY pointed to Alec Pierce as a potential option as New York looks for ways to add proven production and explosiveness to its passing game.

Pierce’s connection to Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich dates back to the draft process, which could be a good thing to look at.

“It was Reich who selected Pierce in the second round of the 2022 draft. As a rookie, he caught 41 passes for 593 yards and two touchdowns. Since then, he has developed into one of the league’s ascending receivers, finishing the 2025 season with 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six scores,” Hughes wrote.

Pierce is coming off his best season yet, which is certainly something to keep in mind. However, it could’ve been a breakout season and not a one-and-done type of thing.

Landing Pierce, however, may be more expensive than it might seem as of now.

“The obstacle for the Jets is cost. Pierce is widely viewed as the top wide receiver potentially available, particularly if the Cowboys place the franchise tag on George Pickens. With multiple teams expected to pursue him, the Jets may need to exceed an already projected $20 million annual salary to land him,” Hughes added.

If the market is too high for him, the Jets should probably look elsewhere.
