Team Canada is on a roll and has a chance to secure the Winter Olympics’ No. 1 seed in men’s hockey with one more strong game.

It’ll come down to a goal differential tiebreaker most likely, and Canada has already won by a combined nine goals through its first two games.

Last remaining in group play is a Sunday clash with France. The Canadians will be heavy favorites to rack up some more goals.

Their fans will also be hoping for good news as it pertains to the veteran Brad Marchand, who sat out their second game after playing in their first.

Is Brad Marchand playing today?

Yes, Brad Marchand is playing on Sunday for Team Canada against France.

He sat out on Friday, but that was for rest purposes. There was no injury.

Canada had opened its tournament on Thursday and decided to not play Marchand on the back-to-back. It allowed the Canadians to get Seth Jarvis into action after he was a healthy scratch for the Olympic opener.

It seems unlikely that Marchand would be scratched for any remaining games. He’s firmly a middle-six forward for Canada’s roster even at his age.

Marchand brings plenty of winning experience and guile to go along with his talent, and that’s a good combination to have behind the in-their-prime superstars at the top of Canada’s roster.

You can count on Marchand being on the ice plenty going forward at the Olympics for Team Canada.
