The Seattle Seahawks are facing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, as Mike Macdonald and his team are just one game away from becoming NFL champions.
With both defenses elite, the consensus is that this game will be a low-scoring affair.
But if the Seahawks are to win, one would think All-Pro receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba will have a lot to do with it, right?
In a bold but unlikely prediction piece, CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell has the Patriots’ defense keeping Smith-Njigba quiet.
“Smith-Njigba added another such game in the NFC conference championship game win over the Rams with 153 yards receiving and a touchdown on 10 catches,” Podell wrote. “However, he’ll fail to break 70 receiving yards in Super Bowl LX while being shadowed by Patriots Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez.”

Super Bowl prediction nightmare fuel
If the Seahawks are to win the Super Bowl, offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is going to have to scheme Smith-Njigba open.
With Gonzalez expected to follow JSN everywhere he goes, if the Patriots force Sam Darnold to beat them with someone other than Jaxon, then it might not end well for Seattle in Santa Clara.
Of course, the Seahawks have other weapons as well, such as Kenneth Walker, who has been dynamite in the playoffs, and if he gets rolling, then coverage could be softer for JSN.
But under 70 yards for JSN? That will likely end in a Super Bowl defeat for Seattle.
