Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins future was murky last season when he was benched for the final couple of games under Mike McDaniel.

Now, with a new head coach and general manager, that feeling has only intensified for Tua.

Still under contract with huge money still tied to him, the Dolphins are in a tough spot regarding what to do with Tua this offseason.

A trade is a tough thing to accomplish, given the money involved, and cutting him is equally as tough.

And NFL Network insiders, who consist of Mike Garafolo, Ian Rapoport, and Tom Pelissero, reported on GameDay Morning, that “all signs” are pointing toward Miami moving on from Tua.

Can Dolphins move on from Tua?

They can, but it’s tough.

Cutting him, per Over The Cap, will see Miami eat at least $67 million in dead money, no matter if he’s cut before or after June 1.

A trade before June 1 will see Miami eat $45 million in dead money, and that number drops to $13 million for a post June 1 trade. So that’s the money side of it.

But here’s perhaps the biggest question — who would want him?

The New York Jets or Arizona Cardinals are two options, but will either franchise want to take on that contract? Not likely, so Tua’s future is murky at best.

And as far as his future in Miami, it feels as good as done.
