Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte says demand for Longhorns football has reached the point where a massive season ticket waitlist has become the new normal at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.

During Wednesday night’s town hall with fans, Del Conte announced that over 11,000 people are currently on the waitlist for season tickets to the football program. He emphasized that this number clearly demonstrates the program’s momentum as it enters its third season in the Southeastern Conference.

“We have over 11,000 people on the wait list right now (for football season tickets),” Del Conte told attendees, adding that “it is just a great time to be a Longhorn” as interest continues to spike.

The figure adds to the previous benchmark from 2025, when Texas officials said more than 8,000 fans had joined last year’s waitlist.
