The Charlotte Hornets are the hottest team in the NBA at the moment. After Monday night, they have won seven games in a row, the latest of which came against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Most people will credit the promising trio of LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel, and Brandon Miller. However, the rest of the Hornets roster has played well, including veteran Grant Williams, who just returned from an injury recently.

Williams knows the Hornets have been impressive

The Hornets are playing arguably the best basketball in the league at the moment. They might be the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are blowing away their opponents.

This has come through a superb offensive system, as their three-pointers are falling. The ball is moving with LaMelo being the driving force, setting his teammates like Miller and Williams up for those threes.

As the Hornets keep winning, they are building genuine momentum for a postseason run. They are only a game behind the 10th-seeded Atlanta Hawks, which is the final spot for the Play-In Tournament.

“We’ve done it in a lot of different ways, whether it’s close games, blowouts, now coming back from behind, and that shows we’re not just a front-running team,” Williams said after the Hornets’ win against the Pelicans.

“We are competitors. We are consistent, and we gotta do our job no matter what the game dictates, whether it’s a defensive matchup, an offensive matchup, being able to prepare for either one.”

Williams himself has gotten himself into a solid position with the Hornets. He has maintained his role as a solid shooter, but he is also providing superb leadership and decent defense for a Hornets team that needs more depth.

Head coach Charles Lee has the Hornets hooping, and that will continue as the players are feeling more confident than ever.
