The New York Jets are looking for a new offensive coordinator after moving on from Tanner Engstrand, and an experienced offensive coach who has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks has been linked to the job.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Darrell Bevell is scheduled to meet with the Jets in-person regarding their offensive coordinator vacancy on Monday.
Anderson adds that Bevill has already had a virtual meeting with New York.
“NEW: I’m told Darrell Bevell, who served as the Dolphins quarterbacks coach & passing game coordinator between 2022-2025, is currently scheduled for an in-person interview with the Jets on Monday, per league source,” Anderson said on X.
“Bevell has already interviewed with the Jets virtually as well.”
Bevell has coached in the NFL since 2000, starting out in Green Bay as an offensive assistant before becoming the offensive coordinator of the Vikings in 2006.
The 56-year-old has also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars as their offensive coordinator. He most recently served as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Miami Dolphins under Mike McDaniel from 2022 to 2025.
Due to his experience as a coordinator, Bevell would be a fantastic addition to Aaron Glenn’s staff. The Arizona native has led five top-10 offenses in his career.
With Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey on the hot seat heading into 2026, it would be wise for the tandem to hire Bevell as offensive coordinator and see if the veteran coach can improve an offense that was unwatchable in 2025.
