It’s official — NASCAR is back. The 2026 Cup Series returns for another year, starting with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium this weekend.
Historically, this annual race was held at Daytona or Los Angeles, but last year it made the move to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While Bowman Gray is a beloved venue, this weekend’s race schedule has been srambled by inclement weather in the Carolinas.
The Clash is a shorter race than most — only 200 laps and 50.6 miles. In the inaugural running of the race at Bowman Gray Stadium last year, Chase Elliott took the checkered flag, edging out Ryan Blaney.
