The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t made any moves on the trade market this season, but they recently made an interesting roster move.
On Tuesday, the Cavaliers cut ties with a 22-year-old NBA Cup champion less than three months after signing him.
“The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived two-way forward Chris Livingston,”
HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported on X/Twitter.
After spending his lone collegiate season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Livingston was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the No. 58 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Livingston split time between the Bucks and the franchise’s G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, during his rookie campaign.
Livingston averaged 1.2 points per game with the big dogs in Year 1 and secured an NBA Cup title alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
In Year 2, the Akron, Ohio native remained the same, compelling the Bucks to waive him after the 2024-25 season. Shortly after parting ways with Milwaukee, Livingston inked a two-way deal with the Cavaliers.
The former McDonald’s All-American has only appeared in three games with the 2016 NBA champions this year, contributing 3.0 points per game in 5.7 minutes. Livingston, a long and athletic 6-foot-6 wing, has performed well in the G League, averaging 15.4 points in five outings with the Canton Charge.
Considering Livingston’s NBA career is just getting started, there’s a good chance he’ll soon land another gig in the big leagues.
