The United States is currently dealing with Winter Storm Fern. The storm is dumping snow in the Northeast while bringing frigid conditions and ice to the south.
Sports can be an outlet for fans’ life stressors, but sometimes conditions in a host city are so bad that it is unsafe for fans to travel to the game. When that happens, the event is usually postponed or cancelled with public safety in mind.
Fern hit most of the eastern part of the United States overnight Saturday into Sunday, but continues to keep temperatures low, causing ample snow or ice impacting travel. This has led some major sports leagues to make major decisions, including delaying or postponing games on Sunday.
The Sporting News will provide the latest updates for the sports and teams affected by the storm.
