All the rumors suggest that Romeo Doubs will leave the Green Bay Packers in free agency to sign with a new NFL team.
If his contract does indeed approach $20 million per year, it’ll be logical for the Packers to let that happen.
Green Bay still has a stout wide receiver depth chart, and while Doubs has been a reliable target for Jordan Love, it wouldn’t make sense to pay that price for them at a surplus position.
But another team? Doubs could be worth it.

In a pass-happier offense, he can likely be a standout WR2 supporting a bigger star on the opposite side.
There’s also an underrated aspect to signing Doubs: his Guardian Cap.
It’s that big, soft-shell covering he wears over his regular helmet. It’s a safety measure meant to help protect against head injuries.
Doubs began wearing it in 2024 after returning from a concussion. He caught two TDs in his first game with it and has worn it ever since.
From an optics perspective, it’s just kind of fun and different.

You always know which guy Doubs is out on the field.
It almost gives the effect of a bobblehead or one of those “Fathead” posters that used to be advertised in commercials.
Clearly, no team is signing Doubs because it looks like he’s wearing a jumbo helmet.
But for the acquiring fanbase, it’ll be a cool added detail.
