College World Series 2025 live score: Coastal Carolina vs. LSU baseball updates, results, highlights from Game 2

Game 2 of the Men’s College World Series Final will be held on Sunday, June 22. LSU will be the designated road team for this game, with Coastal Carolina serving as the home team. First pitch is tentatively set for 2:30 p.m. ET, with the game airing on ABC. 

LSU is one win away from being the national champion. The Tigers scored their lone run in the first inning of Game 1, but then Kade Anderson put the team on his back. The LSU ace threw 130 pitches for the complete game shutout. He walked five, but allowed only three hits and struck out 10. 

Coastal Carolina’s 26-game win streak came to an end. They couldn’t take advantage of the five free passes issued by Anderson. The Chanticleers were 0-7 with runners in scoring position. The saving grace for Coastal is that you could argue that Cameron Flukey was the team’s second or third best pitcher. He dominated LSU, allowing only one run on four hits in six innings. Coastal Carolina will likely turn to Jacob Morrison in Game 2. Morrison is undefeated 12-0 this season with a 2.08 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 104 innings of work.

Bottom of the 1st — 

3:01 p.m. — Anthony Eyanson is on the bump for LSU. He gets Bodine to strike out on a ball in the dirt to begin the game. Alexander hits a ball up the middle. The second baseman got to it, but didn’t put quite enough on the throw, and his first baseman couldn’t pick it. Eyanson strikes out Barthol for the second out of the frame. Alexander stole second.

Coastal Carolina’s head coach Kevin Schnall was arguing pitches with the umpire after a stolen base. The umpire looked like he didn’t like the jawing from the first base coach, and ended up telling Schnall that who defended his coach. Both end up getting tossed quickly in the bottom of the first inning.

2:52 p.m. — Jacob Morrison takes the mound for Coastal Carolina, and this game is underway. He struck out Curiel to begin the game. Frey sent one up the middle, but the ground ball went right to the Chanticleers’ second baseman in the shift for the second out. Milam hit one into no man’s land down the left field line, and it drops for a single. Brown struck out to end the inning.

2:11 p.m. — Despite the Game1 broadcast saying that first pitch was at 2 p.m. ET today, that was just coverage of the game. According to the timer on ABC, first pitch will actually be closer to 2:44 p.m. ET.

The second game of the 2025 College World Series Championship Final will be held on Sunday, June 22. First pitch is tentatively scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET, but with it being the summer, a stray mid-afternoon thunderstorm could delay the game. 

The game will air on ABC and will be live-streamed on ESPN+. It will also be available with Fubo, which carries ESPN in its channel lineup and is offering a free trial.
