The Denver Broncos improved to 7-2 with a win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, their sixth win in a row. With the NFL trade deadline down to the last 24 hours, will the team make any moves?

Most fans within Broncos Country are looking for the team to add a player. A wide receiver, tight end or inside linebacker could help the team in its quest to reach the Super Bowl. But there is always a chance that the Broncos could sell a player or two as well.

Even teams in contention are looking to trim the fat on the roster and if a draft pick or player of more use can be obtained in exchange for a player that doesn’t have a huge role or figure much into future plans, that is something any front office will look at.

The Broncos could be inclined to move on from these players.

Broncos who could be moved ahead of NFL trade deadline

Jaleel McLaughlin, RB

Jaleel McLaughlin was quickly becoming a fan favorite in the Denver backfield, but he has taken a back seat in 2025.

Undrafted out of Youngstown State in 2023, McLaughlin rushed for 906 yards in his first two seasons with the Broncos. But the team chose to revamp its running back position this offseason, drafting RJ Harvey in the second round and signing J.K. Dobbins in free agency. Beyond that, Sean Payton has preferred to have Tyler Badie in the No. 3 role this season.

As a result, McLaughlin has been a healthy scratch in all but one game this season. The Broncos wouldn’t get much for him, but a team looking to build on what he’s done thus far in his career could be interested in taking a shot.

Ja’Quan McMillian, CB

The injury to Pat Sutain II makes this a lot less likely, but Ja’Quan McMillian has been somewhat in limbo ever since the Broncos used their first-round pick on Jahdae Barron.

McMillian has seen far more defensive snaps than Barron thus far this season, but it’s clear that Barron will eventually be shifted into a starting role in this defense. In addition, McMillian will be a free agent at season’s end, and he could be looking for a place where a starting role is more of a guarantee.

Do the Broncos try to get something for him now?

Lucas Krull, TE

Lucas Krull is currently on injured reserve, but he can still come back and play this season. The Broncos have Evan Engram, Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins on the roster and with the recent addition of 41-year-old Marcedes Lewis, Krull’s chances of playing for the Broncos again this season may be low.

He’s another guy the Broncos wouldn’t get much more than a seventh-round pick for, but that’s always better than having players you’re just going to end up cutting due to not having a role for them.
