Arch Manning’s status against Vanderbilt was up in the air.

Manning was listed as questionable for the 20th-ranked Longhorns after he suffered a concussion during last week’s 45-38 overtime win over Mississippi State. Matthew Caldwell replaced Manning to throw the game-sealing touchdown.

Manning was injured trying to dive on the opening possession of overtime. This is the latest setback for the preseason Heisman Trophy favorite.

Here’s what you need to know about Manning’s status for Saturday’s game.

Is Arch Manning playing today?

Manning is not on Texas’ injury report and is cleared to start against Vanderbilt, per reports.

Manning was in concussion protocol and, as of Friday afternoon, was a game-time decision. There was optimism that he would be cleared in time to play. ESPN’s Molly McGrath reported on Friday that Manning hadn’t had any setbacks and the Longhorns were “hopeful” he would be available.

Before leaving the game against MSU, Manning was 29-of-46 passing for 346 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.

Arch Manning’s 2025 stats

Through eight games, Manning has completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,795 yards and 15 TDs with six interceptions. He has added another six scores on the ground, which leads the Longhorns.

Last week was just the second time Manning has thrown for over 300 yards in the 2025 season.

“We have four games left,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said this week. “If we can handle our business, we have as good of an opportunity as anybody to play in the SEC championship game and be part of the College Football Playoff.”
